civil action lawsuit

Jurisdiction/Place:

i am not sure where to post this. my divorce lawyer sent me a letter for civil action lawsuit for the money i owe her for my divorce that was never finished. she claims i owe her $10,500 but i estimated $5800 before the interest that she is charging me and the late fees. i read my fee agreement and it states nothing about interest or late fees and have asked several times in the past about this but i never get an answer. i just recieved the letter 5 days ago and i have to enter an apperance and don't know how to go about this. is it worth it to try to settle with her out of court or is it too late to try this. thanks:
