    Asset Search

My wife and I are now divorced but still have the issue of a property settlement (namely my pension). She states she had expended all of her retirement as a nurse before the divorce with a surgery for gastric bi-pass and has nothing and then ran us into financial problems. I would like to do an asset search on accounts she had. Of course her lawyer never responded to our request to show where money went to from 1997-2006. Can I request half of her earnings on what she had before she said she spent it all? Can I do an asset search on my own without going through my lawyer? The divorce was in Louisiana. Thanks for any help.

    A: No.
