I am married and my wife had student loans with sallie mae that were in forebarence. In 2004 she was found to be completely and totally disabled by a federal judge and was awarded Social Security disability benefits. Under federal law, her student loans should have been forgiven due to her being disabled. We contacted sallie mae and did the required paperwork that they required 3 different times and have not had any results. Now they have taken our 2007 federal tax return and I have had it. What they are doing is illegal and I need to know what my next step should be. And hopefully find an attorney that is willing to file a huge lawsuit against these clowns for all of the disabled people that they have screwed over.
