August 23, 2000 my dad died his will was changed within the last two weeks of his life and witnessed and signed 2 days before his death. Today while talking with a client about her husbands alzeimers I realized that my father might have been diagnosed or had early onset alzeimers and we weren't apprised or aware. This gave his wife an opportunity to take over his life.

Is there any way I can get copies of his medical records to see if he was diagnosed with alzleimers? They lived in Floral Park New York, I live in Chicago.

I am going through almost the same scenario with my brothers death. I was told by the hospital and doctor that to receive the medical files the spouse or executor of the Will would have to request and sign for them.

I was also told that a probate lawyer may somehow move around that procedure. I don't know what that would be though.
