my friend has gotten into a pickle.

they stole a someone's credit card and used it to buy things.
this is their first offense and they are 19.
there is hope to get probation and fine.
but would there be anyway to erase that from their record after probation?
and also how long is the probation to be..and what would that entail?

When you go to court, ask your lawyer to ask the judge to put you on suspended imposition of sentence (or whatever they call it in your state).

This means that you will put on probation for some period of time and if you do good, the charge is erased.

Obviously, you want to have the full amount of the dough you stole in cash the first time you go to court. That will impress the judge.
