Hello,
My younger brother who is 16 now lost his green card at the age of 6 (abandon status). He lived in the Bahamas until recently. He is now in the United States attending school and our father has petitioned for him. The question I have is, "Will he turn illegal if he goes past his 6 months - As a Bahamian he can stay here without becoming illegal for 6 months. Is there something we can do so, he doesn't become illegal? I assuming that if becomes illegal then, when his time comes for his green card to be approved then he might be denied. They are saying his status which is pending will take four years to come to be corrected. Thank-you.
