Roommate stole prescription medication

Jurisdiction/Place:

My jurisdiction is: Indiana, USA

We believe one of our (or both) roommates stole my fiancee's prescription medicine. He is on OxyContin for pain management and had 10 pills in his bottle yesterday morning when he took it. Went to check this morning and there was no bottle there.

We checked the kitchen trash can and found the pill bottle, but no pills were inside of it. Our roommates aren't exactly rich and I'm sure they could use the money....

But we don't know for sure they did it, but who else could have? I know I didn't. And I know my fiancee wouldn't give up the pain meds he's been on for three years now.

Should we call the police on this? My fiancee does not have a clean criminal record (credit card fraud) and I believe our male roommate has assault under his records.

Not sure what to do here.

Thank you.
