THE OWNER OF A COMPANY I WORKED FOR TOLD ME IF I FINISH THE END OF THE MONTH WITH A CERTAIN QUOTA HE SET I WOULD GET BACK PAY ,AN EXTRA DOLLAR AN HOUR, PLUS COMMISSION FOR WHAT I SOLD FOR THE MONTH OF JANUARY.THEN HE FIRES ME FOR OTHER REASONS . NOT ONLY DID REACH THE QUOTA I WELL SURPASSED THE MIN. AMOUNT NEEDED.DOES HE STILL HAVE TO PAY?

Verbal contracts are binding. The difficulty with enforcing them is proof, as opposed to written contracts which the details are set in stone. This may be a small claims matter (if under 3-5,000 dollars) and you'll probably fare well there as they are informal courts.
